Reviews:

starsQuick prints, pretty good quality.
This printer lets a photo in smaller print, than 1 minute and the quality are pretty good. We noted that the color is a point away from the applicable color, but if you wish really exact color rendition, to a photo laboratory you go! Objection # 1: They must take care over receiving the dust in the printer and on the paper, because each possible remains dust/lint/hair on the pressures. Objection # 2: The paper container is hard to hold in the correct adjustment. If you do not receive full right to it, it does not print. Objection # 3: More ink/paper, which with the printer comes, is only enough for 5 pressures. So you must buy more more ink/paper immediately. Praise#1: Ink/paper sentences print exactly the number pressures, which maintain it, suitably too, as the technology works. They know the exact costs per pressure dependent on, how much you pay for ink/paper sentence. Praise#2: They can see the photo, which is you in, in order to print on the screen. Praise#3: They can send your photos to the printer into many different ways (to refer it of the camera, of the coded map, over computers). Praise#4: The printer is very mobile and compact. Simply to set itself if in use away.

starsFantastic portable printer- great printouts!
We original bought a lower model of the selphy for our daughter. When I saw the prints from hers, I had to get one for myself. This printer is simple to use (comes with nice little editing program), very portable and prints great prints.

I've seen reviews saying it jams alot and complaints about the availabilty of the paper. I have printed over a hundered prints with mine and never had a jam. Paper is available in 4x6, a credit card size (great for wallet photos) and even little stickers (fun for kids). I have seen the paper on retail shelves in office stores such as staples, but have found the prices online to be cheaper (about .23/print on amazon).

The ribbon technology in this printer is what sold it for me. I have printed prints off several brands of inkjet printers and have always had problems getting the print tones correct from one to another. I end up wasting pages of photo paper and tons of ink trying to get it right. With the ribbon technology in this printer, I get perfect prints in seconds with a clear coat over them that keeps them from running or smudging. Never a bad print. With the ribbon technology, you always know how many prints you will get - don't need to guess if you have enough red or yellow ink left to print another print.

My only regret is that Canon doesn't have a printer that prints larger prints with this same technology.

starsavoid this printer
It thought that a good choice met with my first sublime printers. First pairs of the pressures were pretty good. Printed then an interior photo, which came from to dark one. The profile ICC could not find, in order to try and repair for differences concerning the announcements, therefore I approached Techservice. They said send it inside for repairs. No parts for this printer thus it sent a re-installation to me. Re-installation printed some illustrations, which were even darker than the original printer, and accumulated then. Offering a back getting sticker (3 days now) thereby I it inside to send can. While I was at the telephone with Techunterstuetzung, found, printer have ink jet not printers of the profiles ICC only sublime out.

starspaper jams
Ok, this was my fault for not being careful, but still... When I tried to print an additional photo on the blank half of a used photopaper, the ink cartridge and paper jammed. The only way to take it out was to break the ink cartridge film. (The film was stuck onto the paper) Thus, the entire cartridge was wasted just because of one jam. It's just not worth it.

starsPrints have green tint to them
The quality of prints from this printer is disappointing. I did a comparison of prints from this printer and a four year old HP inkjet printer. The inkjet printer had truer skin tones and brighter colors. The Canon printer produced prints with a green cast. Skin tones did not look natural.

Worthy to note that this printer does not include a printer cable to connect to a computer.

As noted by other reviewers you only can print five prints out of the box. I had a difficult time finding stores that carry the paper/ink for this model.

The printer has a number of useful features but it all comes down to the print quality which doesn't compare to other printers on the market.

Keep looking, there are better alternatives.

starsI was wrong!!!
First my report of this product was not a very good, but, after I used the product now for over one year, I understand, how it can be a good product for photographers, who on the way are. It has 4 fast runs, then, an illustration (not the best quality that it gives, but still largely) comes out and everyone is lucky. The characteristics I really like approximately this printer are the retractable USB cable and the Muehelosigkeit of slamming in an ink cartridge, which gives so many illustrations them, promise. Also at screen photo allotters is ehrfuerchtig. They can preselect and even explain repeated illustrations at the same time, how many of everyone them to wish. For example you wish a copy of photo 2 and 10, but you wish three of photo 15. It does it with Muehelosigkeit, which do not have to be you rocket a scientist, to it to use any. It is also good, if you draw up an illustration on your computer and back to the Sd map send it. It prints new photoshoped illustration and everything. I do much with photoshop and this characteristic alone to marks it worth the purchase. As soon as you receive all, your pictures on the map explain them to print which you go being and to wish. Definitely a good purchase... for the price.

starsGreat print quality
Large pressure quality and speed. Very good software bundle however worked on on window 98/ME.A. does not isnt there a version, which works. If you think that in that situation-being to harvest and from the little announcement on the 730 turn Extra50.00 it imagines again is it is a 2.5"Anzeige and its hard to see what the end result is, thus except the 50 and this to receive. The card reader does not read compact lightning of a Kodak camera, but the work, which is large with my cannon. Simply to load paper containers and pressure cartrige. k

starsNot great
After many reviews, I decided to try my first dye-sublimation printer. I was a bit disappointed. My only complaints are about the quality and size of the paper. The size is smaller than a regular 4x6 but I've read this before so I already expected it. Even knowing this, I couldn't get over the size once I personally saw it and compared it with the standard Canon 4x6 glossy plus. The quality is more of a disappointment. The details are not as good as the Epson PictureMate Deluxe that I bought for my parents. I noticed this in the shadows. The hair on my son showed up as a block of black ink. The same photo showed some strands details on the Epson. Overall, I will still keep it since it is the smallest printer I've ever seen and it is fast as advertised. If size is not an issue, I'd recommend the Epson PictureMate Deluxe.

starsI love this printer!
I received this printer as a gift and I love it. It prints beautifully! It is compact and I love that I can print pictures using anyone's memory card. It's a great way to share images. It beats waiting for a copy you may never get. I also love that I can print greeting cards! I highly recommend this printer! A+!

starsGreat little Gem...
Prints large quality illustrations! The quality is fair as good as an illustration, which is developed at your local 1-HourPhoto. Large purchase! Recommend it in high of degrees...

starsCannon Printer- Selphy CP720
An ink cartridge to make available, which prints only (5) illustration, is disappointing. When, this kind of the product would impress purcahasing, a full ink cartridge the customer. I carry out that expendables material are, where the money is made, but really, as gift, the receiver must let new cartridge, together with ATTEMPT and buy AND the paper FINDING, run out now which fits this thing.

starsSelphy CP720
This copy printer was purchased for my husband. He loves it! He would like to know if/how he can print in different sizes. Also, can he buy more paper for the ink cartridge or does it only come in packages.

The pictures come out beautifully. They come as glossy postcards. However, when written on the address side, it makes the picture side "bumpy."

Thank you,
Joan Hartlaub

starsTerrific -- when it works
Perhaps I got a bad apple, but so far I think this product is terrible. They only give you enough ink and paper for five prints, which is fine if it actually would print said five prints. Mine jammed constantly, from the first time I ran it through. I'm not even sure why it said it was "jammed" as the paper seemed to come out fine, it just stopped working. I got one print total, and afterwards couldn't get it to do anything. Apparently when you get a "jam", even if none of the ink appears on the photo paper, the printer is using up the ink ribbon (how I've no idea, there wasn't a drop of ink on my very blank photo paper). My ink ribbon went dry while I still have 4 of the blank sheets left. Hardly a value. Seems if it jams at all, you essentially lose the ink portion involved as well, and per my experience, the rest of the ink ribbon entirely. I will admit the one picture I got was very nice, photo-lab quality, but this seems to be a machine that has a whole lot of potential for wasted money.

starsAs advertised plus
This is an outstanding bit of techno wizardry.
We bought it for Mom's trip to Europe with 4 box's of 108 prints. Based on past experience we figured out the cost per picture and this was an easy winner for us. If the device survives past the first 400 prints we are in the cream!

The BAD first....
1. This IS a stand alone unit - you do NOT need a computer to use it. BUT REPEAT BUT if you do want to print from your computer - say after taking out that red eye - you MUST be running MS XP or VISTA. There are NO supports for Linux or those other older OS's. That's why it only gets 3 stars. So much for backwards compatible, free markets etc....

2. The paper tray is flimsy and poorly designed watch you don't break it.

3. Canon has a bad habit of NOT supporting its printer products. We have Canon printers that lack only 15 cent parts but Canons way is to buy a whole new unit. Our plan - and advise to the buyer - is to buy up front for a one time use.
Canon printers do not like to sit idle nor age well so if you wont get your value in the first 6 months you run a very real risk of dissatisfaction.

The GOOD ....
This baby rocks.Period.
1. Clear crisp prints faster than the old polaroids and excellent color.
2. The thing is so simple my brother couldn't screw it up. A real joy in high tech, just plug it in and it works!
3. The print media is all but fool proof and the whole set up takes about 1/2 a cup of coffee even if you refuse to read the instructions.
4. We are very pleased to report that this is just as it advertised 1,2,3 simple - insert card, select image and hit print. That simple and easy.
5. The test sheets are post cards. That means you can send that picture of your finger in front of Old Faithful to your kids before you leave the park ... oh the fun we will have with this !
6. The unit is JUST small enough to take in a camera bag but very nice for cluttered desks with enough cord for the coffee table. You can pick the unit up and look close at the little screen deciding if you want to print that picture of your sister giving you that raspberry without needing a gym membership nor endangering the units functions.

6.25a If you are willing to use MS XP or later you can have way more fun with this thing than is legal in some places.

Given the pace we should see this device with a far bigger LCD in a year and real cross platform function before that. This is one device that waiting will probably pay off with but at under $100 it's a really good TOY buy with the above in mind. If it turns out to be a really good tool as well thats all to the good. We shall see...

We have had to drag mother into the digital era. Toys like this make it easy and fun for her at a price point per picture that lets her fiddle and try things.

starsGreat 4X6 photo Printer!
I bought two CP720 for $99.00 ever from the local memory. It has some useful functions like 1,5 tariff LCD Vorbetrachtungmonitor, multi the plan price increase, established in the USB cable and in the card reader... Pressure quality is distinguished with lubrication protective layer, cannot explain you not the difference with pressure of the photo laboratory or even better. Time-take approximately 2 minutes print. Recommend in high of degrees this printer for people, which would like to print high-speed photos through. In addition ascending version CP730 battery has worked on choice, therefore you can receive to nice photo laboratory quality pressure at at each time, everywhere. CONs; 28¢ per pressure. Simply to receive point of dust in the locking picture during pressure processing with 3 runs. No picture saatbestellung function(But $50 further CP730 has it!)
