Logitech Wireless DJ Music System
Reviews:

starsGreat Device
Leave-of access me to say that I improved of the old system without wire of music of Logitech which was useful to me well during a few years. I in the beginning bought this like gift for my father for Christmas and upwards placed it for him. The installation was not difficult, does not install the software, does not direct it in your music directory/WMP, conjugation the power and the connectors of RCA and its good of going. The first impression that I had with really employing the system was the quality of outside. It is full, has a certain weight with it, and feels like a really good product. It is a little long but adjustments well in your hand. The posting of liquid crystal display is luminous and easy to read, the system of navigation on outside is not fastest (particularly with thousands of songs) but it is not horrible. The wheel of roller feels a little fragile but insofar as I can say, is not in danger of the rupture any time soon. The capacity to make playlists with the assistance moving of the button of DJ is a large device and makes really the device shine. It gives you the capacity to go in your house, take outside, play of pressure and in 2 or 3 seconds the music runs above your loudspeakers. The device by radio of station east slightly buggy, not all work 100% of stations of time and from time to time they are dropped. The quality of sound is very good, certainly an improvement above the older model. Although the true audiophiles indicate to you that the quality of its lack, unless you have a system of noise in value of the thousands, you will not note a difference. If you are accustomed to listen to MP3' S, then you can which kind of quality be envisaged. In a general way, I strongly recommend this product and orders already others for me.

starsdoes not function properly
Many users complained to jump of music. I thought that this must be due to the inaccurate installation. I had guessed that since I am very qualified in computers of establishment I could obtain this operation of device. However, after having passed much hours with this device it is obviously defective. I could not obtain to jump to stop independently of what other devices in my house where running. I came to the conclusion that many of the latter are simply defective and cannot produce a running signal. I would have given one hold the first role but stripped the certain ones had a problem with him. I would not recommend against to buy this product, independently of your technical expertise.

starsAgree With R. Brown on Somethings.
1. You are giving this tool permission to look up songs on your PC that Media Player, Itunes, and Folder files contain. Don't interrupt this process.

2. This tool is NOT a player, it finds the songs on your PC and used one of your players on your PC to play selected song, then sends the signal to your Receiver for amplification. Especially...DON'T interrupt this process.

3. If you have to do multi-Task...Go to DJ list and STOP PROGRAM before continue...How Easy!

4. Internet capabilities are NOT affected.

5. Editing, Ripping, and using one of your players WILL AFFECT capabilities.

6. Bottom Line, I LOVE this Tool....Too Bad I just couldn't hook up my external HD to it and push PLAY, instead of a $3K LapTop.

starsDelivers on looks and setup...
I was impressed installation and to feel heavy smoothes outside. It seemed almost impossible to obtain a good audio connection without wire of my PC to my stereophony at the house for less than 60 males. After hours of a couple with the DJ without wire, I suspect that it is always. In my case I could not hear more on my PC with the operation of software. Even when I however that the software did not run, I could not hear my loudspeakers of computer. This is probably cured with playing of the violin, and I will probably assume this error of user on my part. I obtained my back loudspeakers when I uninstalled the product. However. Unforgiveable is the variable execution. With only 20 feet and in the hot line of the site of other, the product could not provide a full song without several drills, stammerings and problems. Perhaps it is error of operator or the system error also, but, before you assume it is, knows right that my system is a pretty system of solid XP, a core duel, 2gigs a RAM etc etc... A summary note. When the product functions do not try to try to change songs by your interface of PC, the results are unpleasant and required a rebootstrapping. I made the hopes raised for the DJ without wire, but the product am not delivered of what I personally had need in an audio product without wire.

starsCan't be beat...even if you spend double!
I bought the first time a DSM520 HD player of media without wire for $200. When I realized I had to neutralize my wall with the test of fire, the search for media was slow, and the Internet the stations that by radio 5 mn to install me each time took... returned the article to the store. After having looked on line I found the DJ without wire and appeared if that functioned of the whole, $90 is not bad. DEFECT OF THE SOUND REPRODUCTION! ! ! I am astounded with the quality of sound, the speed of the music seeking, the range of the remote unit, the functionality of outside, and simplicity to install. I am tried to buy more packs them am in addition to market when this one carries outside. My installation: The unit of Computer/sendung is to 35-40 feet of my receiver (on the same floor). There are two walls between the unit and the receiver of sending. Remote music of controlls of any place in my 2.900 squares house of pi. 6.000 files of music on the computer. If you want to have simple, manner profitable to play the files of music and acoustics of jet starting from your computer... which you will not be disapointed in this unit. If you want to have a manner complicated and expensive to try to play of the files of music and to run acoustic to start from your computer... you it need to continue to look at parce that it is not for you.

starsWell worth the money
This product is a great solution for users of Napster in spite of the remarkable negative comment in certain reviews. I find it to be free, easy trouble to employ and free audio deformation. By learning the player from media, the users of Napster can imitate playlists allowing operations similar to that of the software of Napster.

starsInnovative, Practical Product For Many
Like lots of folks, I've wanted to bridge my home-theater system with my PC-based small music collection created from CD's, cassette tapes, and records that I own.

My first product of interest a few years ago was a WiFi product (from Creative, if memory serves) but I didn't want to shoe-horn another audio component into an already crowded cabinet. At the opposite end of the spectrum, there's Sonos, which looks fabulous, but with a price of about a grand for a basic setup, it was way out of my league.

Other products from D-Link, Squeezebox (now owned by Logitech), Roku, Zyxel and others (including Logitech's own Wireless Music System for PC), though affordable, always seemed to miss the mark for me in 1 or 2 major ways. At first glance, even this product (at $250 msrp) was too much to pay. I typically listen to music playing in the living-room while I'm working on my laptop in an adjacent room, so it was important for me to have a fully-functional remote that would allow easy navigation and display track info, and not have line-of-sight restictions (like infrared). In that respect, this product is perfect: everything you need to operate the system is on the iPod-like remote, and the only component that had to go in (or on) the stereo cabinet was the small receiver/charging cradle.

Performance-wise, I've had it for 5 days, and it's been fine. Logitech says a minimum 500 MB of RAM is needed, 1 GB recommended. My PC uses XP, SP2 and has 512 MB, and I've not experienced the dropouts or pauses reported by others. My WiFi (11g) is in the same room as the PC, and I've seen no conflict between that and the Bluetooth technology that this uses. The PC is in a second-floor study, streaming to a first-floor living room about 30-feet away. The Streampoint software natively supports any formats playable by Windows Media Player, iTunes, and Musicmatch. When in PC mode, it will play anything your PC will play through its' sound-card (including AAC), but you lose the functionality of the remote. This is helpful for certain radio stations that stream over the internet but aren't receivable with those programs.

My only MAJOR gripe is with Streampoint. It seems to work well, but if your PC is shared among several people in your home, Streampoint will stop running if you attempt to Login another User account. Unless this restriction is fixed in a future release, your PC pretty much has to be a dedicated, 1-account machine. If Streampoint will be a core-component of future Logitech products, hopefully any future improvements will be ported to the Wireless DJ.

Those who need or want bleeding-edge audiophile sound quality, 5.1 or video capability will NOT find it with this product. Introduced in 2006, Logitech has recently discontinued it, so the price is drastically lower than $250, ranging from CA$75 (refurb'd) to US$96 or so new when I was shopping.

Other products worth investigating (though more expensive) I think are the Roku SoundBridge and the D-Link DSM-120. I have not tried either, but for under $100 I think the Logitech Wireless DJ is a clever and useful appliance for those content with plain ol' stereo, if you can find one.

starsGreat for the price

Escribí a logitech y no me dieron respuestas satisfactorias. Este producto solo funciona si el emisor y el receptor se ven de lo contrario hay constantes caidas. De otra parte el sonido de reproducción es muy regular.

starslogitech wireless DJ music system
This system of music is very good, because you do not need Internet to employ it. To include/understand the better system you will install and uninstall during like two or three times, but if you can include/understand very this system inside the first time, then you do not have any combination of problem that that functions very very well, and I have pleasure to listen to the music starting from my computer in my room to be slept with it.

starsGreat device!
I like this thing! It was inexpensive ($96 and free forwarding on the Amazon) but the value of what it exceeds it by far is price! Rapid and easy to install, plus it seems large in the alive room and functions flawlessly. It was a matter of conversation to the last couples of the parts at my house!

starsOkay, but not great.
This system is large in some connections. It is recreation with being able to use outside to reach all what the music on your PC (I have 6.000 songs around) by the intermediary of the name of artist, the title of song, the name of album, and/or the kind, and it exploit your stereophony. The negative ones are that the noise is not large (nonterrible, just not very which high fidelity), and there are occasional references, particularly when somebody walks in the way between the transmitter and the receiver. In my case, they are only approximately 12 feet the distant ones, with a wall in the interval.

starsWorks - but buggy, and better things are right around the corner
I to have the system without wire of music of PC of Logitech and to have been very happy with that... it is approximately approximately $60 on the Amazon nowadays. It makes it possible your stereophony to be used as external loudspeaker of computer -- so fundamental you can transmit the noise starting from your computer to stereophony. I bought this because it provides the additional functionality to be able to use an outside (included) with your stereophony to choose almost songs/albums etc. like looking at a iPod. I upwards placed it in approximately 10 minutes, downloaded updates of software, etc. and had the operation of music. It employs a signal of Bluetooth to transmit (instead of the network without wire of your computer) and this signal seems prone to the interference. All the few minutes, there is one 1 second or less space in the noise which starts to really grate on your nerves after listening during one moment. Documentation included and the forum on line recommend to change the placement of the transmitter etc. which I tested but in vain. And frankly, technology evolved/moved at the point where us should be able to connect and listen without much to play of the violin to obtain something around to work. I also found the stations by radio of access of Internet, while possible, noneasy, and half of the time when I obtain a stating of error message which the reception cannot find the station. Logitech seems to concentrate on their new Squeezebox and my direction is that this is marked to the bottom because they pass to better things. You would have, too. I return mine to the Amazon.

starsPuzzled by poor quality music
I received and installed the Wireless DJ today. My first challenge was that my computer runs Vista, and the version of Streampoint software included in the package wouldn't install. Luckily, the Logitech website had an updated version. Once I downloaded it, the new version installed easily. I was initially thrilled with the sound, but then after about an hour of playing with the controls, the sound quality began to sound terrible with horrible distortion. It took a while to diagnose, but eventually I realized it was just that the volume control on the Wireless remote has to be kept low, with the actual amplification coming from the receiver. For my system, I have to keep it down to one to four dots on the remote. Once I resolved that, I'm really happy with it. I also recommend that you keep it up high -- otherwise when you walk in front of it, it loses wireless connection.

starsAn easy solution at a reasonable price
The system without wire of music of Logitech DJ delivers as a promised and running music of my PC to my stereo system located clearly through the house. The quality of sound is good, although I note that I must keep compound in addition to cradle when the music plays or the music starts to jump. Only one destruction; the process of choice of artist or song is slow if you have a large library of song, since you can only choose the first letter and then make it ravel (and to make ravel and roller); Logitech must improve the software to improve the function of research on compound.

starsNice product for the price
For $100, this system is to the Juste what I sought. Easy to install, the quality of sound is very well (I am not a audiophile), and outside without wire reaches all around my house. There are some constraints with the system (maxes of transmitter to approximately 100 feet, UI nonlarge

starsGreat inexpensive system
Installed with no problem and works at well over 100 feet. The only drawback is that you must have your computer on or you can't access the music library.

starsgood, but have to use your brain to make it useful
good inexpensive option for easily playing your electronicallyu stored music. I gave this to my wife for Christmas and burned all her 400 cd's. I am a hero now! The bad: You should be aware that the remote does not have any search options except scrolling....starting at "a".......with 400 titles you do not want to have to find "Yes" for example. Forget about searching by song title (3,987 titles!!!!). For the life of me, why such a good company with such an amazingly useful product does not have a search method built in to the software, I will never understand. You can though, use playlists you create to get around the problem for example: playlist artists "a" through "e" and so on.
Don't get turned away by the limitation explained. The device really works great, even with on-line radio stations and only occasional lock ups. I generally like to just leave it on random. it will compile the random list (of 4000 songs) in seconds and you can view what is coming up right on the remote. Great for parties. I would recommend it to anyone.

starsWorks well
That functions well. With goods performace and interfaces. It is better than I envisaged.

starsGreat idea, but needs work
Logitech is very narrow with this, but it needs always a certain work. When I installed it, all worked very well, including the automatic update of the software packages. I thought that it was really large - outside is very fresh and the factor of "retard" not too bad. But then the problems started. At the beginning, the software would not release it is conductive, thus all the noises would play by the DJ, even when I neutralized the unit. This required to manually change the healthy drivers in the everytime of control panel which I finished employing the DJ. Then to work stopped remotely. After many of the reinstalments and email with Logitech (which judged to be useful, but could not find a solution), I gave up and returned to the unit. Thus for those of you considering, it can be correct (and when that functions it is large), but envisages you can have the trouble - thus ensure you that you can return it. Moreover, the handbook puts in reference various the operating mode which does not match the real software - I am thinking them released the handbook envisaging an update of software which has to still occur.

starsGreat Remote For Music on Whole House Media Computer
We have a computer of media connected to our whole system of noise of house. That the computer has our whole collection of music on top and picks us up up to now had to use the keyboard of computer to choose songs or playlists starting from the itunes to play. It was an important argument when you run around the house or are outside on the platform and the stops of music. This outside enables you to choose the noise of computer produced like output indicated. That means that you have all the advantages of remotely (songs of roller, playlists, albums, etc...) without having to connect the food without wire to your soundsystem. I left my computer and the soundsystem connected exact the same manner that it was before and uses only outside to order the music on the computer. This makes it possible me to begin, stop, make a pause, etc, music of anywhere outside of the house with the capacity to inside or see exactly what I do on the screen of liquid crystal display on outside. If you have a computer of healthy media connected to your system and you to want a manner of ordering the music on top being played, of fantastic work of this outside. I provide that I could have connected connection without wire if I wanted - but I was already happy with my installation and sought a better manner of ordering it. It was him!

starsAlmost, but not quite
Though I did not buy the unit by the Amazon, I feel compulsive to review it. I had had a unit without wire of music of creative operational sand spreader of laboratories during a few years. I liked it even with his whims. What I did not like was that the radio would be stopped by my telephone, independently of which kind of knife I employed -- I tested two. Outside was also very klunky. Thus when I was informed of the system without wire of music of Logitech DJ, I bought one immediately. This unit has beautiful and functional outside -- ideal for the goal. Initially me was concerned because it did not seem to match the music in "A, B, C, D.. . "like my creative unit of laboratories. That meant that you had to match by the list of artists -- all -- to find that you to want. But when I connected it and checked an update there was an update available and it fixed this exit. Thus why only one do they hold the first role? Well, I noted immediately that the signal would mask outside during milliseconds at the same time. It would match jump, but not really. The signal disappeared just during one moment and was then good back. Perhaps it is right advanced OCD, but this Me A LEADS INSANE! ! ! I went on line and sought and found other users with the same exit. I tried any succeed to move the antenna and the receiver with at a few feet of other (but more narrowly than not recommended) and to neutralize my network of WiFi. AND IT ALWAYS DID IT. I finally solved the problem by connecting my stereo receiver directly with my computer and by deviating the radio send and receive the units. This eliminates a reason important to buy a unit like this -- without wire-ness of connection between the PC and your stereophony. But I could not obtain my back of money and I am enough lucky to have cabled my stereophony at my office so that this could function. I went in Logitech and sought answers and did not find any of it. A good number of complaints, but aucunes difficulties -- not even in the last update. And I wrote their department of support and never heard it behind. I think Logitech is dishonest person by selling this unit and to claim it functions and I think that they should fix the problem or refund no matter whom who asks. This experiment corrompt my opinion of Logitech and will affect all the buying decisions of future where they could be a player -- both for me and my company. This known as, if you do not occupy yourselves of a stereophony which jumps during a few milliseconds all the few minutes -- it is LARGE! ! !

starsnone working charger
The charger for the equipment did not work. Naturally this took 4-5 dsys with discover. Thus the service was good but they never checked the equipment that they sent to me. With due buying a new battery, and maintaining a charger

starsExcellent product
Plug the transmitter(smaller than a deck of cards)into a USB port on your computer. Plug the receiving unit into your sound system input ports. Install the software. Then sit back with your handheld control unit and pick and choose from your ITunes or Windows Media playlists or dozens of internet radio stations, and hear it all through your home's sound system. All totally wireless. This unit is very high quality, very unobtrusive but very attractive in appearance. Sound quality equals a CD. Only drawback: the handheld remote is not yet compatible with Comcast Rhapsody playlists. 5 stars.

starsTruly, truly unreliable
Initially, I always have like products of Logitech, of their design to their profitability. However, the DJ without wire really disappoints me because of its unreliability. Simply, the product does not function as launched and not promised on the market. Now, how much dubious devices you have the part for in your house and overtime to solve frustrating, of the basic problems? I suggest you saving your hard-gained money and finds another solution for your needs.

starsLogitech Wireless DJ System!
I stumbled through this product a couple months ago and did not look at behind since. I thought "which single idea" "my hundreds of collection of song of MPG wirelessly of my PC to my theatre of the house of DENON 2802 the play installed"? ! My front loudspeakers are Magnepans or Maggies - flat loudspeakers of ribbon 24"x 60" tops! I wanted the versatility. I wanted reliabilty. I wanted high quality but without spending large. Our PC of family is located in the room of family where we can keep an eye on the Web pages that our kids were on line for obvious reasons. Logitech is a company considered good. I have several their products. From taken a chance and ordered. I opened the box and was immediately impressed very fine quality and firmly established components. The instructions were easy. The installation was a brainer of not. My wife, that usually the shys far from the instruments likes it. Now we can program our playlist after remote loading of our collection of MPG to the unit held in the hand. The orders of posting are very intuitive. The Christmas carols, rock or by the artist, you decide how your music is played. Place-the and forget it. When you are made. Stop-the and return the unit held in the hand with the cradle of refill. My personal opinion: Obtain it. Below $200. Improve for parts or to listen just while you obtain made things.

starsNot Vista Compatable
I received this for Christmas and it worked fine until I bought a new PC that has Windows Vista as the operating system. Now, my Wireless DJ Music System is worthless. I have contacted the "support" on Logitech's web site and can not get a straight answer as to when (or if) they will provide customers with upgraded software to make this work with Vista. If you have Vista, be aware that you will not be able to use this product.

starsLogitech Wireless DJ Music System
It was exceptionally easy to install well this unit out of the box. Stripped I had the problem with references of music except on rare occasions. Consider, the format mp3 does not present "the sonic realism" of the original format files of "(wav" of IE). On the whole, I am very happy with this unit and would still buy it and would recommend it.

starsBetter than expected
I bought this article with much skepticism, however the DJ without wire was really better than I envisaged. It reaches songs on my computer that I did not even remember to put there. There is some jumps here and there but all in all a large useful tool.

starsGreat design, but problematic for some setups
I was very excited to receive the DJ without wire like Christmas present. However, of the months later, I cannot obtain it yet to function correctly. If you have a network without existing wire, as I have, or live in a building where there is the other traffic without wire, you cannot be able to entirely appreciate this device having to attend "references" (healthy cutting inside and outside). This can be due to the interface of Bluetooth it uses, or it can be due to some problems with its software of Streampoint. Logitech launches this device as not needing a network without wire to connect itself; they should clarify and say probably that people with a network without wire are well better in addition to buying a different product (for example, Squeezebox, also had now by Logitech). Logitech published a levelling of software since I bought; this did not solve the problem. I spent much of time the surplus the past several months seeking their forums of the users and making the installation of test and errors, in vain. Most unfortunately, in spite of the theoretical call of the device, and of his great design, I cannot recommend it for each one.

starsExactly what I needed
It is the freshest instrument which I bought in years. I centralized it stereo with loudspeakers in all my house. I could obtain this connected and working literally within 15 minute. I have 4 stories at my house and outside functions everywhere in the house. Only exits with him losses the signal during one second once in during some time but seldom. _ moreover it interfere my Internet without wire but I think that I can it fix in change just the channel that it use. Impressive product

starsGreat Design, Problems with Performance
This was a breeze to set up and use. I had problems with low volume and frequent droupouts, even though the receiver was less than 30 feet from the transmitter. Found out accidentally that unplugging the power to the receiving unit cured both problems for the remainder of the session. The next time I used it, the problems came back. Logitech Support told me I had a defective unit. I returned it for a replacement. The new unit still had the dropouts, but not the low volume problem, and no way to cure it, even temporarily, so I returned it too. I would gladly buy this product again if Logitech could solve the dropout problems.

starswireless remote music
Overall a very nice product. Was very simple to install as per the directions. Although it did reach the entire house the signal strength was weak from one end xmit to the other end (remote) so I ended up moving the xmiter to a more central location, along with the computer...

Warns that it transmits on the same/similar frequency as 811 wireless networks and I did seem to have some interference at first, but not sure if was really jamming the wifi or not. The music did not have any interference on it. Uses Bluetooth Class1, but walls and floors degrade the distance quite a bit.

The download of the new software/firmware (optional beta update) worked great and reduced the issue of scrolling through hundreds of songs by inserting an A-Z type index layer.

Downsides: It is point to point and only one point at a time. So if you want to play your music from your computer on the downstairs stereo it works great. If you'd also like it piped out on the patio at the same time during a party, you can't even with a second receiver. Only one receiver can get music at a time. Even with that I looked to buy a second receiver, and found they didn't sell just a receiver. You had to get a receiver and remote intended for the other model (useless remote).

You need a moderately fast PC, especially one that comes out of standby quickly, in order to provide a reasonable response time on the startup of the remote.

Overall I'm happy with the product. Hopefully they will address the single room at a time issue which is the biggest issue to me. Seems like they need a "broadcast" mode to all registered receivers.

starsVery good if I can eliminate the interference
Within its limits this device works very well. It was easy to set up & found all my tunes both ripped from CDs using Windows Media Player & downloaded from Napster. The remote has limited capability but enough to select the albums & tracks I want to play although slowly. Being able to add to the Playlist dynamically is nice.

My biggest reservation is the interference. I've followed all the advice given but still have dropouts & "clicks" every 10-30 seconds. I need to do more to isolate & eliminate. If I can the rating jumps to 5 stars, if I can't down to 1 star (0 if possible)& I would want my $$ back.

starsGreat Product
It is a great manner of listening to the music on my computer, without having to place it close to my Amplfier OF HIGH FIDELITY. To control remotely like a IPOD its easy functions thus to employ, my computer is placed on A differen the part approximately 20 meters far from my amplifier. I just must program the music which I want to hear and of the thats all

starsOne More Reason To Hate DJ's
Sure, the DJ without wire will play your protected AAC, but it will not carry out through anything close of the distances quoted in the true world. That that I received would not surely connect through a distance of 30 feet to an interior wall between the audio computer and system. It can play your protected AAC because it does not have its own player; it is used as outside for which to the top the associated player some song brings required it of you to play of your library. But, the remote functions functioned too slowly to make with the pleasant experiment for me. The complaints of the product indicate, YES! YES! YES! The execution of product indicates, NOT! NOT! NOT!

starsNOT for audiophile's...!
If you are a person who is interested in high-fidelity sound reproduction, this device is NOT for you.

I was hoping it had some of the qualities of the "Squeezebox" or at least something close, I was wrong.

From what I can find on the internet this device uses the "SBC codec for Bluetooth Audio" to transmit audio from the computer to your stereo receiver. SBC is an audio coding system specially designed for Bluetooth audio at medium bit rates, and having a low computational complexity. Judging from the quality of sound, my guess is that the bitrate is approximately 128Kbps.....a far cry from my original music files that are encoded with Apples lossless at a bitrate of about 1000kbps. Don't get me wrong...this device was very hard for me to return. It was a breeze to setup and worked perfectly with my iTunes (after a firmware/software upgrade to Pre-release 3, StreamPoint v1.1.0). The remote is wonderful...east to navigate and good battery life...but has a very short range (less than 40 feet in my house). So, in summary.

The Good:
Easy to setup
Easy to use
Good battery life

The Bad:
Sound quality
Wireless range

So, if you normally listen to music encoded at 128kbs and don't have a long distance requirements for the remote...this device is for you. However, if you like high-fidelity music (or close to it) and you need a remote that will transmit over long distances...pass this one by.

Rumor has it that Logitech will merge the sqeezebox with the DJ Music system remote in the next generation of the Squeezebox...we can only hope.

starsExcellent Product
I bought this product then having reviewed much of similar products on the market (on a same price scale). I was amazed to see that this product carried out exactly as described. The installation was a breeze. I installed many instruments in my life, but it is the first which I obtained working in less than 5 minutes. Yes, that takes a good moment to make ravel all the songs, if you have thousands, but by while upwards placing them in the kinds and/or the playlists, marks that much easier. The option to install the mulitple those in various rooms is a major option. You can buy the additional receivers for approximately $50. I connected one by one a portable loudspeaker in my garden and I have finally the music in the garden when people of enterain of I. Quality is very good and, naturally, depends on the quality of the file MP3 which you try to play. In a general way, a very good product without surprises. It, of better produced other there outside there, but not with this reange of the prices. You will have to strike mark $1.000 to obtain a better quality.

starsNot just another boom box
With its smooth interface, and simple installation, I had the system without wire of music of Logitech DJ to function in less than 15 minutes. For no matter whom tearing CD' S in their PC, and seeking a manner easy to play all their music by their stereophony at the house, you just found your solution.

starsAwesome little piece of technology
Is a small piece impressing of technology. Install simply the software, connect your transmitter and receiver. The fresh remote controls in manner all your music of computer and allows the playback by your stereo system the house expensive. I like it. The quality of sound is good. Volume is little a bottom that other entries for some reason, thus I must raise the volume moreover than other entries but it seems good. Simple to install and employ. Elegant outside leads the system, and has much in ways useful to match and choose the music.

starsFantastic Device
Worked and installed perfectly for us... also downloaded of Logitech beta version of their software which improves the possibilities of research that some reviewers/users early complained approximately. Our library of music contains more than 34.000 songs... seeking is a breeze of outside and the noise coming by our stereo receiver is perfect without exits of volume. Recommend-cordially to no matter whom with a large library of music which would appreciate not to be attached to their PC and which wishes to appreciate their music by their system at the house of theatre/stereo.

starsGood product for the value shopper
Setup is straight forward. Out of the box software had bugs that made it painful to use with itunes. Logitech has released a new software that addressed the known itunes problems. User Interface is acceptable. Overall this product gets 4 stars because of the value it offers for $219.

starsFunctional, Slick, Zero Hassle set up
I just obtained the DJ without wire, today, and I already in an extravagant way impressed, was potentially énormement disappointed, and then to impress again in an extravagant way the guests whom I have invited natually the surplus to show in addition to this elegant tool. I do it mean, is it a toy of part, is not it him? Let obtain to me worst from him with the variation: before updating the software manually, (because the up to date car-setting did not detect beta version), not to be able to seek by shirts of window-model had me crosseyed with the frustraton, since each other manner of seeking and roller are present: artist, album, song, kind and even player of Playlists media. Why not my carefully marked shirts? With what I finished to the top was a directory of 5.000 mp3' S, and you could not seek by them but one, in the order. Egads, not going to occur. But, on Logitech the Web site was software beta which breaks up all the categories by the first letter of what you seek above, and you can then make ravel by that. It is rather close to research by shirts to make it correct by me. I find people to want to listen to a group "play the stones" or, you have hot song the "for the professor?" Before the update, almost impossible with the fufill these requests, now easy. Here how I employ it: I have a PC being employed like waiter of LAN, thus it am always above and on top have an order which has all the music, I attached the crawling dongle of transmitter/receiver to a port of usb in the back, and approximately 30 feet of distance, on the same floor, two rooms to the bottom, is it stereo which has the transmitter of the base unit/receiver attached to him. Afterwards after the stages on CD (first stage as soon as you open the box: autorun CD of installation) obtaining the confirmation each time, I was in service inside below 10 minutes. How does it resound? That resembles my stereophony, perhaps volume is lower than the other entries, I it lucky find myself raising volume approximately 25%. Otherwise that resembles CD, definately not the same quality of acoustics of DVD, at least not which I can say up to now. I employ 192KBS VBR MP3s, that I tore most of the time CD' S dating all the manner again at the traditional Eighties and rock, they resound fine, but to twist is definately possible when you upmix a stereo signal with 5.1, which it amp is responsible for in this case. There is an ordering of dumb man and volume on the device. Volume is odd, you can only decrease it, or raise-only again so that it With what was does resemble? Splendid, an astute expression of contemporary and blue-modern model. The window is smallish, but any name or titrates of artist, or something which are too long for the rollers of window automatically after a few seconds, nice contact. There are several adjustments which you can make with the unit in it is arrangements, to be appropriate most of the time for your taste. I even noted that you can thus install the plan different of rooms (stripped of I even taken the sorrow of reading the handbook, it is very intuitive) I on having the capacity to have the choice of music in the room to sleep, alive part, bathroom, you can even play the radio of Internet and who still knows what. The key with the success of this unit is how imagination and useful they make the software, if the tendency continues, this device could just generate a whole line of the ipods of handicapped person fixed at residence!

starsNot Bad for the Money, But....
I must admit this was an impulse purchase and I did have a little trouble finding it. The local Best Buy inventory stated that there were two in stock but they were nowhere to be found. The 'consultants' had not even heard of the product. Drove 30 miles to another Best Buy where I found one lonely box on the shelf. I will admit that the 'consultant' there knew of what I spoke and directed me to the right shelf. Took it home, unpacked it and set it up and it does work as advertised but with a few quirks that may be solved by reading the manual a little closer. I am currently listening to a list of iTunes selections one floor below the location of the computer and the connection is fairly stable but I do have to goose up the volume just for normal listening. Initially I had a lot of distortion but a quick check of the manual fixed that-has to do with Quicktime. I will concur with those who do not like the scrolling. I haven't tried it yet but I would bet it will take a long time to travel to the letter Z. Most 'annoying' for me however and again this may be fixed by looking at the manual is that the selections(movements) do not sort properly. Maybe this means nothing for a Pop album but for classical music it is important to hear the movements in order. It probably wouldn't bother me if I could see the names of the movements so I could rearrange them but the display is somewhat narrow and while it scrolls right to left it takes a while to cover all the movements. So for now I am listening to Bach Harpsichord Music which eliminates the need for precise complilation of the selections. Again I may find out how to do this properly by looking at the manual. The battery appears to recharge quickly and I have noticed that the signal strength improves with a newly charged battery. Currently I have over 4500 tracks represented by 340 albums and there are many more tracks I could add. With the above comments noted, it does a nice job and iTunes does not even have to be active. I deducted two stars for the lack of a search feature and the lack of proper sequencing of movements. Maybe as others have noted a software update will correct those issues.

starsHas GREAT potential
The system is OK... BUT with great potential. Comparable to the Sonos system but at way less cost. The whole system is quite simple with it having just 3 pieces of hardware - wireless transmitter for the PC, nice remote, and the docking station you hook up to the receiver. All pretty well done. Sound quality really depends on how you have your music encoded and your A/V system. My sound is actually quite good.

The problem is with the software that is really not ready for primetime. I got this system in Sept. and the Streampoint software was not liking the 7.0 iTunes that I had. A new BETA version called 1.1 fixed some problems, but also caused new ones. If you are not PC savy I strongly urge you to wait until most kinks are out of the Streampoint software. I have not used the system with Windows Media or Musicmatch but those are available music players as well.

All in all, I give this a 2 because it just is not ready for the masses and perhaps 3 stars for those that are somewhat savy with A/V and PC stuff. Once the software is more dependable (also when iTunes is more dependable for the PC) this will be one great piece of equipment.

Check out the Logitech user forum for the device to see what is working and what problems people are having. Logitech support for this is either very basic or clueless so be aware that the main source of support is through the user forums.

PS. for those that have large music catalogues be aware that the remote currently is very slow when scrolling through - album, artist, playlist - libraries. I have well over 120GB of music and getting from Aaliyah to Xzibit takes a little bit of time. This SHOULD be fixed with a new software release. Also, if you are using Itunes it would be optimal to NOT be using iTunes 7.0 or above.

starsGreat Platform, But Could Use Some Tweaks
Finally, a way to unleash all the music on your PC without major hassles! I have tried several WLAN based systems, each of which I have either returned or used sparsely simply b/c they did not work or were not very user friendly. The Logitech DJ finally offers a solution that works and is easy to use. However, it is not without its faults:

Positives:
1) Uses a dedicated wireless connection - so no hassles with WLAN security, signal strength, etc. Also, connection strength strong enough where I stream music from my PC upstairs to my stereo downstairs - and its inside a cabinet!
2) You can scroll through your ENTIRE music collection on the screen of the remote - just like an iPod! This is probably the greatest feature. The previous wireless music systems that I have tried would either have a lame little set top box with a readout screen or would have to be hooked up to your TV to provide the visual interface.
3) Works with all my music file formats - including subscription music services like Napster. I am a Napster subscription user, and it works beautifully.
4) great remote - easy to use, attractive design, and recharchable battery that lasts for a reasonably long time

Negatives:
1) I did not have a plug n' play experience. There were a few kinks that I had to work out first. This included a problem where the system would get hung up if I had the same music file in both the Apple and WMA format - so I just told the Logitech system to sync with WMA files and ignore Apple files and it works fine.
2) System is difficult to use if you have A LOT of music. After synching the Logitech with my music collection, I ended up with over 1,000 artists and 12,000 songs This made it very difficult to scroll through your music to find what you want. I ended up spending a weekend pruning/cleaning up my files to get down to 350 artists and about 7,000 songs. I would suggest to Logitech that they incorporate some more intelligent search functionality in the next version.
3) Automatic vs. Manual synching. The Logitech operating system used by the DJ to synch with your music files can automatically read your music collection to check for updates. However, with the size of my collection, sometimes the system would get hung up while I was trying to play music as it was also trying to synch with my music files. I switched to manual update and just update it occasionally, which is fine.

But now that I have it working well, it is fantastic!

starsBeware of distance limitations and sound quality
With bought this unit after having looked at a certain number of solutions of replacement (Squeezebox including and Sound systems). I liked the fact that it was $250 and outside entirely functioned (showing C-with-D. of the data of way of music). However, this product did not really live until my hopes for two principal reasons. One - quality of sound. It is rather not good simply and the majority of the people will note it without having to listen too hard (once compared with the direct play of CD, or by the digitalized music played by loudspeakers of a laptop/powered). It does not seem just y to have any depth. The second reason is the lack of range for outside. This product is sold stating it works to 330 feet. I have it right employee in a small apartment and it fights by the doors or 1 wall (linear distance of 20 feet). I do not see any manner that that will function in large a apartment/house (by the multiple floors said). The interface is also pretty slow down and that can take a good moment to interpret your order via outside with a change of the music. High side - it is very easy to install and should not take not more than 15 minutes. I would study other solutions of replacement before buying this product - it glances with me like it has serious limitations. My next stop will test the system of Sound systems.

starsWhat I was waiting for!
I have been waiting for a reasonably priced alternative to allow me to play my music collection from my computer on my home stereo system. Up to this point I had been plugging my iPod directly into the system, but the solution was less than ideal.
The Wireless DJ is perfect. It was unbelievably easy to set up. I assumed I would go through the typical process when I add a new gadget to the PC - plug it in, get frustrated that it doesn't work, play around with things, still doesn't work, finally stumble upon the right setting or call tech support hold-o-rama.

Instead, I loaded the software, plugged in the output device, connected the input device to my stereo, and that was it. I swear I did the whole thing in 10 minutes.

The remote is excellent. I love that the remote includes a mute button and volume control, so I essentially can use the remote as my only control of the stereo now.

It is great that it works with iTunes and the sound quality is very good. Only down side is that my PC is fairly far away from my computer and as such I occassionally get a hiccup in the bluetooth signal that causes a burp in the music. But it is minor enough to not bother me, and well off set by the positives of this great new gadget.

starsNice!
I was excited to obtain this and I immediately tore it opened when it arrived today. Until there, all goes well! I did something of bridge crossing similar of media of Linksys and a APP on a wifi allowed the pilot of palm. The exit was the battery never lasted not a long time on the pilot of palm and connection with the PC of host centre was flocculent. It looks at as if the DJ without wire will function well better. I obtained some drop from the exits, but then I changed "the automatic update" of automatic manually and that seemed to correct it. I think who was more one exit of the HP of the PC that the logitech. We will see. I like the abilty to change songs of itunes into the radio of Internet in the player of media of victory. I saved several local stations by radio like jets in the player of media of victory. Now I swicth of can between these stations and my music classifies with the facility. I also really like that the use of the DJ without wire does not have any impact on acoustics on your PC. Meaning, on the system that I employed before you must rock between the local healthy chart and the bridge of media. It required you to rock something before you could listen to the music. Now, anywhere I am with in the house I can put fire to the top of the music! When it video it will enter ravelled material? ? ?

starsA serious competitor to Sonos for 1/6th the price
Logitech took an Apple-like approach to solve a common problem - you have your music on iTunes in one room (usually a bedroom or home office) and you want to play music on your fancy home theater / stereo in the main room in your house. Sure, you could set up a wireless network to stream iTunes songs to your stereo, but you don't want to walk to your computer every time you want to skip a song or browse your song library. Logitech has delivered with a gorgeous remote that can be set up in less than 10 minutes. There are only 3 steps: 1- run the CD to install the software; 2 - plug in the transmitter to a USB port on your computer; and 3 - plug in the wireless receiver to your home stereo anywhere in the house. That's it. I turned on the DJ Remote and had a complete listing of my 700-song library right on the remote with navigation as good as on my on my i-Pod. Even my iTunes playlists appear on the remote. I was also impressed with the quality of the audio streaming wirelessly to my home stereo in my living room. I would have liked to have a choice during set-up to have the remote control the volume on my reciever rather than only on my computer, but that's a small criticism. I only set up one room, but I'm told you can buy additional DJ receivers to add rooms to the system. Not bad for under $250. The only alternative to get this kind of functionality in a great design is the Sonos system, which starts at $1500 or so. I can't believe where Logitech priced this thing. They could have charged $400 - $600 and I still would have been psyched to own it.
